Old Tunes, New Voices, errr..owwwza!

And now for something very special for EMP’s visitors. From Cité de la Musique Live‘s “Festival Days Off,” 07 July 2011, it’s “The Velvet Underground Revisited,” featuring The Hot Rats, Colin Greenwood, Joey Waronker, Nigel Godrich, Soap and Skin, and Nicolas Godin. The energy these guys bring to some of VU’s best music is palpable in this concert. They’re fantastic musicians. And the stage setup seems pretty spot-on — great lighting, video montage in the background, and silver balloons all about the players. Wish I had seen this live. Cheers to Cité de la Musique for making this available!
